About Me

My name is Michal age 46

I’ve been drawn to the mountains for more than three decades. They’ve taken me from the Alps and the High Tatras to the Canadian Rockies and Coast Mountains, New Zealand and the Himalayas.

Over the years, my focus has shifted from mountaineering, alpine and ice climbing towards skiing, snowboarding, teaching and ski touring. Since 2014, that’s been where I spend most of my time in the mountains.

I’m a certified ski touring guide, a ski and snowboard instructor, and an ISIA Stamp holder. I enjoy being out in the mountains, finding my way through unfamiliar terrain and sharing that experience with others. I’m not drawn to the mountains just for the lifts or groomed pistes — I want to get out there, earn the turns and see where the day takes us.

Ski touring offers the perfect combination of everything I love about the mountains: movement, adventure, challenging terrain and the freedom to discover places that cannot be reached any other way.

Norway is one of the places I’m especially keen to explore on skis. And although skiing is now my main focus, climbing hasn’t left me. I still look up at the summits, and every now and then one of them presents a challenge that’s hard to turn down.
